EllaWonderful article! Many times the cycle is not broken and carries on for generations. I know that from my own experience this is true. If I did not wish to pass this inflictions onto my children (especially my daughters) that I had to break the cycle. I had to expose it for what it was.It is not easy to do and would suggest that anyone who resonates with this article seek out professional help to help them through the process.Again thank you for bringing this into the light.mwahCarlaI certainly agree with you that any degree of mental illness requires professional psychiatric assistance in the healing process- tampering with the mind without this trained professionalism is a dangerous undertaking, which may lead to further tradgedy and suffering for the victim. You're a wise woman to know this................. Thank you so much for your attention and comment- Always- Ella
Thanks Ella. The past is as unreliable as the future! Within each moment is freedom. Meditation is an experience of just this moment. One reason why people have such a difficult time living "in the moment," is that we have the heavy weight of the past dragging behind us; and the yawning jaws of the future in our face- kind of hard to see the small moment, with all that around us- Thank you so much E- for your loyality- it warms my heart- Always- Ella
Ella, realizing it is a cycle and breaking it isn't easy but the benefits of doing so is so rewarding. Many of us may never even realize what we went through as children thinking it was normal. Thank you for an inspirational read.GraceThank you Grace- I highly value your opinion and comments- Always- Ella
Ella, I agree with you, and you've expressed it so beautifully, as always. I think the wounded child lives very alive within us, and that we can give her the love, protection and nurturing she needs. This, I believe, is what "moving on" is really about. Thanks for an insightful, wonderful article. We all have our crosses to bear, as they say, and they come in different and various weights- it is our own that is the heaviest to us- I appreciate your loyalty, and value your opinion- Thank you- Always- Ella
After reading this I'm positive that men have it a heck of a lot better than women.Thank you so much Abe- for expressing your realization- Always- Ella---- and- Welcome!
Wonderful article. The oppression as well as sexual abuse of females and to a lesser extent of males is as old as man itself. It is not a new phenomenon, and I believe as opposed to an explosion, is finally being given attention and therefore a reversal in practices that have heretofore been accepted as men's perceived God given right to rule over the opposite sex. As women become empowered to speak their minds it will become harder, is becoming harder, to cloak these acts, and come to a consensus that should have been obvious from the beginning, that all men/women deserve to live with respect and dignity. As Ms.Goshwin eludes to, religion has not done it's due diligence in freeing women from the shame associated with these acts forced upon them, and it's time we all step up and do what is right irrespective of our religious beliefs. You are indeed a wise and gracious man- As always, I thank you for reading my article- and for your learned statement- See ya later- Always- Ella
It's sad to think about the kinds of cruelty and abuse that exist, but it's a reality for far too many. Very thoughtful article Ella.
As always, I thank you Brianna- your loyalty warms my heart- "I'll get by with a little help from my friends"
Sensitive treatment of the subject matter, but a little too much waxing eloquent to suit my taste. But that's just MHO. Otherwise, the points made are well taken.I do realize that my writing style is not everybody's cup of tea....... nevertheless, I do appreciate your reading and taking the time to comment- Always- Ella
