Summon the Goddess of Muse

She is our source of guiding inspiration, the goddess in Greek Mythology who presides over song and poetry- the arts and sciences; her gender chosen by her very nature.
She can be fickle, this Muse; mercurial in her rapid and unpredictable changes; and is indeed multifaceted and inconstant.
We may at times call forth different forms of this elusive creature. She can be as individual as we ourselves are. If we do expect a perpetual, unvarying image, we may on occasion fail to recognize her immediately; for she is adept at subterfuge and disguise. A familiarity with her presence is required in order to distinguish her from the annoying interlopers who would usurp her place. Whatever raiment she may choose to don for her appearance; it is of the diverse and multifarious wardrobe which we have chosen; one of varied hues and styles. Certain of this apparel will be her most partial and preferred; these colors and styles having gained this favoritism by way of the shadings and events in our own individual lives.
" Come sweet muse," the artist cries, in yearning angst and fear of her prolonged absence- beseeching the capricious goddess return; she who holds in her erratic hands the magic potion of our naturally endowed value. But in her opposing nature of truculent obstinacy, she may heed not the call; for she senses, in her post of ever-vigilant observance, the nearby rumbling of peril to her jealously guarded possession of time; for noble generosity is not her attribute.
Diligently must we lay the table for her arrival, and light the ambient beacon which draws her to our door; she is as a lover; who brings the fulfillment and dreams of our innermost self; for she is that other self.
